Fabric & care
The composition is stated in the description and printed on the inner label. Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours. Hang to dry. Iron on low, inside out over prints or embroidery.

Brushed winter trousers with a soft nap and a turned-up hem, in four colours
These are the trousers for the month the joggers go away. A brushed cloth with a soft nap, the hand of a fleece with the look of a winter trouser, cut relaxed and straight from a soft waist to a hem that turns up once over the trainer. Slash pockets, a drawstring inside the waist, and nothing on the outside. Four colours: black, coffee, apricot and dark grey.
It is the winter pair of the collection and the only one with a nap, and the turned-up hem is the detail: it shows the brushed inside of the cloth, a shade lighter, at the ankle.
The name, Fuyugi, is winter clothes, the drawer that opens in November, and the trousers are the first thing out of it.
The cut is a relaxed straight leg with room through the thigh, a soft waist and a plain hem cut long enough to turn. The cloth is a polyester-cotton blend brushed on both sides, with a soft nap and a little weight, chosen because a winter trouser should be warm without being thick and should not need a lining. It is not a fleece; it is a woven cloth with the surface of one.
Wear them with a plain tee and trainers, as in the photograph, or with a knit and boots in the cold. They go with white, black, grey and any jacket in the range, and they do not need a belt unless you want one.
They wash cold, inside out, and dry flat; the nap stays soft and does not pill.
From across a street they are dark trousers with a turn-up. From close the nap shows its brush, the turn-up its lighter inside, and the pockets their slash. They are the pair for the cold, and for the person who does not want to look like they dressed for it.
The pockets are the working part: slash pockets at the hip deep enough for a phone, and a back pocket, so the trousers carry a day without a bag. The waist sits where you tie it and does not dig, and the seat has room to sit on a step.
Coffee is the warm one, apricot the pale one, and the two greys are the ones that go to work; all four are the same cut and the same nap.
Sizes run from M to 3XL. It is cut to Asian sizing and runs small, so take one size up from your usual. Between two sizes, take the larger.

What kind of trousers are these?
Japanese street trousers: cargos, joggers, wide legs and the tobi and harem cuts of the building site and the temple town, several embroidered with cranes, dragons and clouds. Every page says the cut, and every pair was photographed with a white tee and white trainers, which is how they are worn.
Does it run small?
Yes. Our pieces are cut to Asian sizing, which runs smaller than US sizing. Take one size up from your usual; between two sizes, take the larger. Measurements taken flat are in the size guide.
What is it made of?
Mostly light polyester-cotton blends, with denim for the two denim pairs, a linen-look cotton blend for the embroidered ones, corduroy blends for the patchwork and the workwear pair, and a heat-set pleated polyester for the pleated trousers. Each page says which.
Embroidered or printed?
Each page says. The cranes, the characters and the clouds are embroidered; the dragons and the camouflage are printed; the kimono and dragon panels are printed cloth sewn in.
Is it made in Japan?
No. It is a Japanese design, made in Asia. We say so on every page.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash cold, inside out, and hang to dry; denim with its own colour the first time. Nothing needs ironing, and the pleated pair must not be.
