The jacket is a flight jacket in navy rather than black: matte navy nylon, navy ribbing, a metal zip, a zipped pocket on the left sleeve.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is the only navy bomber in the range, and the navy does something the black does not: it makes the red god warm and the gold drums glow, the way a dark blue wall does behind a painting.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe name, Kamon, is the family crest, and the ring of drums round the god is drawn like one, the gold tomoe on each drum the crest of the thunder itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe gods are embroidered, not printed, in satin stitch with the gold kept metallic. The body is a matte nylon blend with a light quilted lining, the cloth of a flight jacket rather than a souvenir one, with ribbed knit at the collar, cuffs and hem, a metal zip, a slash pocket at each hip and a zipped pocket on the left sleeve. From close the god has every strand of his mane, the drums their tomoe, and the wind god on the chest his sack and his cloud. It is the sukajan for the person who wears navy and wants the screens.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA flight jacket differs from a satin sukajan in the cloth and the collar: the nylon is matte and takes the weather, and the ribbing is plain and closes at the neck. It is cut a little slimmer, so a knit goes under it in the cold.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSizes run from S to 3XL. It is cut to Asian sizing and runs small, so take one size up from your usual.
